Rackaucakas Exploits Early Voting by Changing Date of Newport Beach Surgeon Arraignment by Two Weeks

Change Of Date Notice Comes One Day After Orange County Register Endorses Spitzer For DA Demanding New Leadership

Spitzer To Discuss Search Warrant Warning By Police Of “More Victims” And Why Case Prosecutor Has Been Replaced

ORANGE COUNTY – October 16 – After already waiting nine months from the execution of a search warrant on Newport Beach Surgeon Grant William Robicheaux to make an arrest, Rackauckas plans to announce new victims who came forward from his staged press conference on September 19th, in Superior Court on Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

Already behind in scientific polling and losing the endorsement of the Orange County Register and KFI AM 640’s John and Ken to his opponent, Todd Spitzer, Rackauckas is staging a high profile media circus to attempt to salvage his failing re-election campaign.

“No one is fooled by this exploitation of the justice system,” said Spitzer.

He continued, “Rackauckas waited months after police found guns, money and drugs in Robicheaux’s Newport Beach home safe on January 9th of 2018. He waited to charge Robicheaux and his accomplice girlfriend for political purposes. He needed a high profile case close to the election to boost his name. Obviously proving my point that he waited, today he announces more victims that we should’ve known about a year ago. He exposed more victims and aged the case because he put his political career ahead of public safety. The courts know he’s a cheater. By advancing the case going into the weekend of the highest absentee voting by mail, Rackauckas showed how pitiful and shameless his tactics can be.”

Rackauckas needs more photo opportunities and his name in the news going into the vote by mail weekend. But the facts are the facts. On December 27th, 2017, Deputy District Attorney Michael Carroll signed the search warrant and was working with the police department to coordinate this case. Rackauckas will now blame Carroll for waiting so long and exposing more victims. This is typical Tony.

The warrant was executed on January 9th, 2018 and evidence was seized that justified an arrest and a call for more victims. Instead, Rackauckas sat on two 2016 rape by drug cases by Robicheaux and his girlfriend, in order to stage a high profile arrest closer to the November election.

Setting the arraignment originally on October 26th, 2018, Rackauckas set the date as close to Election Day on November 6, 2018. But given his failing campaign and his realization that in the June 2018 Primary Election in Orange County, more than half of the ballots cast were vote by mail, he has changed his strategy.

“My opponent could care less about victims or the sanctity of the criminal justice system. To repeat the statements of the grand jury and other oversight entities that have reviewed his performance, there is no leadership by Rackauckas and he practices ‘lazy law’. The truth is he practices ‘shameful law’.”
